Artist Statement

Self taught: a phrase I use to say everything in my life has shown me something about viewing, making, considering, and imagining. My work has been and continues to be drawn from a force from within, far beyond comprehension or compulsion. It is about learning to believe that the light can and will come through.

I try to make, capture and frame images that surprise. I am most interested in work that only reveals itself completely with a longer glance, or with a conscious change or exchange of one’s “normal”  point of view.

That faith in the unknowing is very important to me both personally and professionally. In life and in art, by opening up to what can be revealed , de-focusing one’s viewing and adjusting one’s physical proximity or orientation to the image, we can find what truly is, and even more importantly, what could be.
